Gaddis Smith, Larned Professor Emeritus of History, will present the Annual Lecture at the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library
Author and Yale historian Gaddis Smith, ’54 GRD ’61 will present the keynote address for the 64th Annual Lecture sponsored by the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library Associates on Wednesday, April 11.
His talk The Medical School’s Close Call: a Crisis in the Middle of the Twentieth Century will detail the serious economic situation after World War II.
Smith has personally observed many changes and adaptations made by the University over the years. He has a unique view of Yale’s history; this along with his international outlook and ability to discern the broad themes and their impact will contribute to a most interesting lecture.
A reception will follow in the Beaumont Room.
