Yale students, faculty, and staff are invited to a “First Wednesday” open house at the Medical Historical Library. Our first session of 2026 will feature selections of fine artworks from the collection of prints and drawings.

Come see the Library’s holdings of early modern etchings, woodcuts, and engravings by Hendrik Goltzius, Albrecht Dürer, Jusepe de Ribera, and more. Join curator Dr. Phillips and Dr. Grafe, Head of the Medical Historical Library, for an informal opportunity to discuss these works and discover how they expand our understanding of medical history.

This event is part of the “First Wednesdays” series: a monthly program offering exclusive access to the exceptional holdings of the Medical Historical Library. No RSVP needed. Just drop by! Please note February’s location, which will be in the Beaumont Room on the second floor of Sterling Hall of Medicine. Signs will be posted just outside the Medical Library, directing you up the stairs by the entrance.

The Medical Library is closed Sunday, January 25, due to inclement weather, and will reopen at noon on Monday, January 26.
