Time: 4–5 pm
Location: 333 Cedar Street / Sterling Hall of Medicine. Medical Historical Library.

Yale students, faculty, and staff are invited to discover a different side of the Medical Historical Library’s collection at our next open house. The event will feature surprising contributions to the histories of science and medicine, showcasing early modern engagement with portents, prodigies, and prognostications.
Come see prophetic pamphlets, astral calendars, broadsides describing natural and bodily anomalies, alongside early diagnostic manuals devoted to interpretive arts like chiromancy, astrology, and even, phrenology. Join curator Dr. Phillips and Dr. Grafe, Head of the Medical Historical Library, for an informal opportunity to discuss these unusual works and discover how they expand our understanding of medical history.
This event is part of the “First Wednesdays” series: a monthly program offering exclusive access to the exceptional holdings of the Medical Historical Library. No RSVP needed. Just drop by!
