Date: Wednesday December 3rd, 2025
Time: 9:45–11 am
Location: 333 Cedar Street / Sterling Hall of Medicine. Medical Historical Library.
Yale students, faculty, and staff are invited to discover parts of the Medical Historical Library’s medical instrument collection at our next open house, a special morning session curated by Deborah Streahle’s HSHM4280 class, Technology and American Medicine. This event will feature student curator talks on a broad range of 19th and early 20th century instruments, including cupping kits, forceps, and electrical devices. The pop-up exhibit will explore the themes of gender and power, scientific authority, and the commercialization of health across the history of medicine in the U.S. Light refreshments will be served.
This event is part of the “First Wednesdays” series: a monthly program offering exclusive access to the exceptional holdings of the Medical Historical Library. No RSVP needed. Just drop by!
