Responsibilities: 

As your librarian, Kate can:

  • Serve affiliates of the School of Public Health as your point of contact for all things library
  • Tailor instruction sessions for you or your group
  • Help you search for information in the Medical Library's databases
  • Support public health research data management
  • Help you manage your citations (of articles and data) and maintain bibliographies
  • Take suggestions for new purchases of electronic resources, books, journals, and databases
  • Share the Medical Library News every month, with new resources and information about the library’s programs to keep you up to date

Contact Kate for assistance with:

  • Creating and refining search strategies to find information in databases such as MEDLINE
  • Locating relevant public health datasets from open and subscription sources
  • Using GIS and visualization tools to analyze your data and communicate your findings
  • Mastering bibliographic citation management systems to create and collaborate on bibliographies (Endnote, Endnote Web, RefWorks, and Zotero)
  • Understanding and meeting funder requirements for research data management and open access
