We are committed to ensuring an equitable experience for all users and visitors by adhering to accessibility standards and offering necessary support and accommodations.

Virtual Consultations & Classes

Virtual consultations and meetings are available for anyone who would prefer to meet remotely. Please let us know if you would like automatic transcription turned on. Additionally, the option to record your consultation is available depending on everyone’s comfort level.

Many of the medical library’s classes are offered virtually. If there is a class you’d like to attend but it’s only offered in-person, please get in touch with the instructor as we may be able to offer the class as a hybrid in-person/virtual.

Alternative Format Reading Materials

Yale Library has a robust collection of resources available in audio format. To locate audio resources, use the “Audio” filter under Format on the left side of Quicksearch or browse and refine this list.

There are various types of software that Student Accessibility Services utilizes to convert existing educational material into alternative formats. These alternative format reading materials are provided in the form of PDF files, audio files, and Braille.

Students who have their accommodations approved will receive these materials at no cost. Faculty/staff seeking accommodations should visit the Office of Institutional Equity & Access.

Proxy

Users with disabilities are eligible to obtain a proxy borrower’s card from the circulation desk for a specified person to borrow library materials on their behalf. Proxy cards for non-students/staff will be determined on a case-by-case basis depending on an applicant’s particular circumstances.
