Library Services Platform Upgrade

May 22, 2025 - 3:59pm by John Gallagher

On Wednesday, July 9, Yale Library will upgrade the technology platform that supports all library services and operations. Some library services will be paused for several days before the upgrade. The library will begin bringing systems back online on July 9. This process may take several days.

Users may experience some service delays or disruptions while systems are coming back online. Learn how this transition may affect you below:

Circulation

  • Yale Library’s catalog and service platform will be offline beginning July 2.

  • Users may continue to borrow materials from the Medical Library's in-house print collection during this time.

  • However, materials at other Yale libraries (including LSF) will be unavailable for borrowing or requesting until service is restored on July 10.

Access to e-resources

Please be aware that some e-resources may be impacted during this transition. Please reach out to AskYaleMedicalLibrary@yale.edu if you encounter an issue.

Access to course reserve links

Faculty who require links to course reserve materials during this period should contact cwmlreserves@yale.edu as soon as possible.

Interlibrary loan and evidence synthesis projects

  • The interlibrary loan service, which includes mail-to-address, BorrowDirect, and scans of general collections materials, will be paused beginning June 25, which may impact evidence synthesis and literature review service timelines. For urgent projects, reach out to your librarian
  • We encourage you to submit requests for interlibrary loan as soon as possible to avoid delays.
