Places to Study and Collaborate

The Medical Library provides multiple spaces for group study and meetings. Library Patrons may reserve the Simbonis Conference Room, located near the library entrance, by contacting the Circulation Desk staff in person or by phoning 203-785-5352. See below for descriptions of the rooms, facilities and booking procedures.

Please note that these rooms are not for individual study. With the exception of the Simbonis Conference Room, food is not allowed in any of the rooms.

Reading Rooms/Special Purpose Rooms

  • Morse Reading Room (includes the Medical Library's main computer cluster)
  • Historical Library Reading Room
  • Basement Study and Reading Area (includes six non-login computers)
  • Sub-basement Study and Reading Area
  • 24/7 Computing & Study Space (includes a specialized computer cluster available at all times)
  • Wellness Room (located in the Morse Reading Room, 113B)

Conference Rooms

  • Dr. Stanley Simbonis Large Conference Room (SHM L101A) - Reserve this room at the Circulation Desk.
    • Table with seating for up to 18 (12 fit around table)
    • Overhead data projector
    • VGA & audio cable
    • PC computer (requires NetID login)
    • Connections for HDMI and component video (adapters available from Circ Desk)
    • White Board
    • Telephone with speaker phone ability
    • During library renovations, we will only book this room up to two weeks in advance.
  • Cushing Center Conference Room  (Booking Guidelines and Reservation Form)
    • 75” 4K display
    • Table and seating for 20
    • PC computer (requires NetID login)
    • In table HDMI, VGA, and USB connections
    • Ceiling mounted echo-canceling microphone
    • High-resolution conference camera
    • White Board
